Woolscape 3D is a cozy mobile puzzle game about unwrapping yarn dolls, and whether you should install it comes down to one question: how much do you mind an ad after every single level? Because the game itself is easy to like. The ads are not.
Unraveling a knitted pizza, layer by layer
Every level hands you a doll wrapped in colored yarn. You match the yarn in each section to the box of the same color, then carefully pull it apart layer by layer, from the outer surface all the way down to the core. That last part is where the game hooked me. Watching the yarn come off piece by piece and finally reaching the core is really rewarding, and the bright, colorful look makes the whole thing nice to watch even when you are not the one playing.
It starts simple. Too simple, honestly, for the first few dolls. But as the designs get more complex you have to pay real attention to the order and placement of your moves, or the puzzle falls apart on you near the end.
The dolls themselves carry a lot of the fun. You unwrap a PS5 controller, a piggy bank, sneakers, an umbrella, a traffic cone. Each one has its own design, and the developers clearly put effort into making every shape feel different to take apart. It keeps the game from getting boring, which is the usual death of this genre.
This is also the kind of game you can play for a few minutes while waiting in line, or keep playing for an hour without noticing. No pressure, no timers chasing you.

The ad situation, and a note for parents
After every single level, there is an ad. Not every few levels. Every level.
Many of them are harmless, but some might not be entirely suitable for young kids, and that matters here because the gameplay itself is about as kid-friendly as it gets. No violence, just cozy, colorful, relaxing puzzles. If you are letting your child play, keep an eye on what shows up between levels.
You can pay to remove the ads. If you would rather not, the game is still fine, but you will have to get used to those short breaks between puzzles. They can get annoying, and they are the one thing keeping this from being an easy recommendation.
Should you play it?
If you want a relaxing puzzle game for short sessions, or something safe to hand to a kid while you sit nearby, Woolscape 3D is a pretty good pick. The puzzles are cozy, the designs are fun, and it costs nothing to try. Just know exactly what you are signing up for: an ad after every level, forever, unless you pay.
